CROSS COUNTRY

Cross Country picked up two more wins on the season to improve to 6-0 on the year. Victories included big scores over Beaver Falls (15-50) and Shenango (16-45). The event was held at Shenango High School. Up next is the biggest event of the year on Tuesday where they travel to take on RivEll rival Riverside.

GOLF

Golf finished their season off with two events that included the Tam O’Shanter Tournament and the Tri-County Championships. Jordan Keller (72) was the BIG MAN ON CAMPUS as Jordan took home the individual championship at Tam O’Shanter. The Wolverines as a team finished 2nd as well. Friday, the Wolverines finished 8th at the annual Tri-County Championships, where once again Jordan Keller (81) led the way for the Wolverines, finishing third overall at the event. The Wolverines finish the season 8-5 (7-5) and a third place in section play.

SOCCER

Soccer played the Hopewell Vikings in their lone game of the week on Tuesday where the Wolverines dropped the contest 10-1. But a last minute goal by #1 Aiden Huth gave the Wolverines their first goal on the year, a bright hope as they finish the back end of the season schedule.

GIRLS TENNIS

Girls Tennis finished their season playing host to Beaver Falls on Monday, and they didn’t disappoint. EC won the match 5-0, with almost perfect set scores in each game. The Wolverines finished section play at 3-5 (2-5) for 6th place. Ellwood City also competed in the Section Doubles to cap off the season, with Kailyn Hamilton and Tessa Folino making it to the second round.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball had another week of battles as they took on undefeated Beaver on Tuesday while facing RivEll Cup rival Riverside on Thursday. EC dropped a decent contest at Beaver in straight sets. But the bigger battle of the week was on Thursday, where an improved Riverside squad showed some early life taking the first set. Wolverines fought back, and took the match 3-1 on the evening. EC continues to sit third in the section as the second half of the season is under way.

Middle School Football

Middle School Football had a tall task on the week as they traveled to Spartan Stadium to take on the Laurel Spartans. First place and undefeated Laurel took no time to build a lead, and finished off the Wolverines in a 44-7 victory. The lone score for the Wolverines was a 34 yard one-play rushing touchdown by Guillian Frisk. Up next for EC is a battle back home on Wednesday against the Mohawk Warriors from Helling Stadium.
