Wolverines compete in four different events

The Wolverines Golf Team competed in four different events while Senior Maddy McCommons will finish the year off on Tuesday in WPIAL Playoff Finals.

The Wolverines team competed on Monday at the Tam O’Shanter Invitational where the team finished 16th out of 24 teams competing, ending with a team score of 382. Leading the charge was Colten Crizer who finished a 95.

The Wolverines also had two players move on from Qualifiers, specifically Jordan Keller and Maddy McCommons. Jordan Keller finished 56th on a tough course Monday as winds crossed over the 30 MPH mark. Keller came in with a 90, just missing the cut line at 86. Meanwhile, McCommons was able to post a 113 and qualified 16th overall for WPIAL Finals that will take place this coming Tuesday. Tee time is slated for 9:50 AM for McCommons.

Finally, the team overall came back from the three events on Monday and competed in the Tri-County Championships one last time, finishing 5th overall. Leading the way for the Wolverines was Jordan Keller, posting a solid 90. Mitch Covert and Carson Capello posted 93’s while Colten Crizer added a 96.

The Wolverines golf season is almost over, but the Wolverines were competitive throughout the year finishing 8-5 (7-5) while just missing out on team playoffs. A big shout out goes to coaches Dave Braymer, Bill Baker, and of course Sam Barry for traveling with the players two three different places on Monday while coming back to finish the year off on Friday.

Good luck to Senior Maddy McCommons on Tuesday! Information regarding tee times for Tuesday can be viewed on our golf sports page below.
