Girls Tennis finishes season with victory over BF

The Lady Wolverines finished off their regular season section play Wednesday night with a big victory over the Beaver Falls Tigers 4-1.

Leading the charge for Ellwood City was Senior Maddy McCommons winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Second singles Kailyn Hamilton picked up where McCommons left off winning her match 6-2, 6-1. Not to be outdone, third singles Tess Folino added to the win column in straight sets 7-5, 6-2. The final victory of the day came from doubles Lacey Kennedy and Sophia Agnew winning their match 6-3, 6-4.

The Wolverines finish the year 1-6, but pick up a much needed victory at the end of the season!

The Wolverines also competed in Section Doubles Wednesday morning as Maddy McCommons paired up with Kailyn Hamilton as the #5 seed. Unfortunately they would draw Central Valley in the first round, losing 11-10. Tess Folino and Lacey Kennedy also paired up against heavy front runner Beaver, and lost 10-0.

The Lady Wolverines officially close the book on the 2022 campaign, but will look to the future season as youth experience from the season will help Ellwood City in the upcoming season. Congrats girls and coach DiBuono and Campman!
