Lady Wolverines starts strong, defeat Bridgers

Girls Volleyball has officially started for the Lady Wolverines as they defeated the Ambridge Bridgers in three straight sets to pick up the early season victory.

The Wolverines came right out of the gate, having a double-digit lead in the first set, ultimately winning 25-19. Ellwood City did one better yet in the second set, winning 25-18 to go up two sets to none.

The big factor tonight for the Lady Wolverines was serving as several players like Alyssa Donley, Morgan Hooker, and Delaney Sturgeon went on multiple point streaks while on offense. Defense was carried by the likes of Emma Figurel and Lana Nocera. Amber McQuistion, Ava Lucarelli, and Claire Noble tallied multiple strikes at the net as the best set of the night went into the books in favor of Ellwood City 25-15.

The Wolverines start the season 1-0 (0-0) and will look to another non-conference matchup Thursday night as they travel to take on South Side. JV is slated for 6:00 PM and Varsity at 7:30 PM. ECS will have the post game stats on our website.
